Everything You Need to Know
DOES THE STUDENT NEED PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE?
Nope! In fact, one of our biggest strengths is being able to build up brand new actors that have not previously been a part of this industry. At Weist-Barron-Ryan, new actors learn the essential foundations, honest truths, and skills necessary to be successful and enjoy what they do.
WHAT IF MY CHILD/DEPENDENT DOESN’T WANT TO BE AN ACTOR?
That’s okay! We do more than train actors here. Even if the student does not want to be an actor, they will learn, improve, and build upon important abilities such as speech, diction, communication, social skills, confidence, etiquette, and more. Much of what is taught in acting classes is incredibly helpful in everyday life!
WHAT IF THE STUDENT IS HIGH FUNCTIONING?
We tailor all of our classes to each student. No matter what disability or level of function someone has, we can guarantee that they’ll get the most out of their class that they possibly can.
DOES THE STUDENT HAVE TO BE OUTGOING?
Not at all! We actively work on bringing people out of their shells and building confidence within them on a daily basis. Our staff members are incredibly patient and understanding, and provide a warm, supportive, and loving environment to all, whether they are on the shy or outgoing side.
WE LIVE FAR AWAY, DO YOU OFFER ONLINE CLASSES?
Yes we do! With COVID-19 forcing us to go into lockdown mode in 2020, we decided to continue our classes in a virtual format. Although we are open for in-person workshops again, we still offer a virtual option on Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m - 2:30.. So, if you do not live close by our Atlantic County or Cumberland County locations and you are interested in classes, we would love to welcome you and get to know you over Zoom! In fact, the online format has made us able to connect with people all across the state of New Jersey, and beautiful friendships as well as new passions have formed out of that!
ARE YOU WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
Yes we are! Both of our locations are completely equipped for wheelchair accessibility. There are no stairs inside of our studios.
WHAT IF I AM NOT ABLE TO OFFER TRANSPORTATION?
No worries! Our facilities are easily accessible by transportation services such as:
Atlantic County: Access Link, Atlantic County Special Services or NJ Transit 503.
Cumberland County: Access Link, Cumberland County Special Services or NJ Transit 553
If you are unclear about these services, we would be happy to offer some assistance setting it up if possible.

Here at WBR, we like to get to know our students by learning about their goals, strengths and personalities before signing them up for a workshop. That way, we are able to ensure that every student is truly getting the most out of their workshops through a personalized experience.
