Attendance Policy
At Weist-Barron-Ryan and the Rising Stars Acting Program, we believe that consistent attendance is the foundation of every student’s growth, confidence, and creative development. Our classes are structured to build skills over time, and regular participation ensures that each student can progress alongside their peers and fully benefit from the program.
Attendance
Expectations
Each student is permitted six (6) absences per year without charge.
To maintain fairness and program consistency, please note the following:

-
Absences will not be considered excused if a student notifies staff of their absence less than three (3) hours before the scheduled start time or if a student does not call or attend without notice (“no-call, no-show”).
-
In these cases, and for any additional absences beyond the six (6) allowed per year, the missed session will still be billed.

We kindly ask that individuals, families, and caregivers communicate in advance regarding any known absences due to vacations, appointments, or other planned events. Early communication allows our instructors to plan lessons effectively and accommodate the needs of all participants.
Ongoing Attendance Concerns
If a student begins to miss classes frequently, we ask that the individual or caregivers speak with the office staff so that we can develop a plan together to support more consistent attendance.
However, if attendance remains irregular for two (2) consecutive months or longer, we may no longer be able to guarantee the student’s spot in the program. In that case, the seat may be offered to another participant who is able to attend regularly.
Extenuating Circumstances
We understand that unexpected situations can arise. In the event of an emergency or sudden change that prevents attendance, please contact our administrative team by phone or email as soon as possible.
We value open communication and will do our best to work with you to find a reasonable solution.
Make-Up Class Policy
We understand that absences happen, and we are happy to offer make-up options when possible. Make-up classes are permitted under the following guidelines:

• Make-up classes must be completed within one (1) week of the absence and may take place during another Rising Stars class time, pending staff approval.

• Requests to attend an alternate class for a make-up must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the desired class time.

• All make-ups are approved at the discretion of the WBR staff. While we make every effort to accommodate requests, space, staffing, and class balance may limit availability, and a make-up class cannot be guaranteed.

• Alternatively, if students cannot make their original class in-person, students may attend their class via Zoom, provided instructor approval and we are notified no less than 3 hours before the scheduled class time.

Our goal is to support each student’s training while maintaining the quality and structure of every class. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to accommodate make-ups whenever possible.
Acknowledgment of Attendance Policy
By enrolling in or participating in the WBR Rising Stars Acting Program, students and all involved parties acknowledge and agree to the Attendance Policy.
